If you stay on the strip, you should be fine. Remember those escorting services require a two girl minimum. :)

For safest New Hampshire - stats seemed surprisingly low. Also is says 'between 2 and 3 safest' but it shows as #4.

I guess I'm just a bigot or racist or something equally despicable but I can't help but notice the following fact about the top 10 safest:

The safest states are also the least diverse in population.

Why are the safest ten states pretty much lily white?

It would have been better to report the specific areas in the states where crime is high. High crime rates are saturated in specific areas in every state. Everyone reading this artile is well aware of where the high crime areas are in their state. The article was clear to point out that there are many variables to consider before making judgements about particular states. It was interesting to note that white collar crime was not listed in the survey.

If you want to know what's going on you have to look at the government stats this is based on, which you can access for free. This article said more than most, but provided rankings for frequency of specific crimes, not actual stats.

So Arizona is second in auto theft but much lower in some violent crimes. I'm not disputing that auto theft is a serious crime and inconvenience, but when you talk "dangerous" states shouldn't this be based on violent crimes, not property crimes? It would be interesting to see how the rankings change if that were the case.

New York is ranked 31st on the most dangerous cities to live in, yet I see it is ranked #4 amongst the world's safest big cities,hmmm...I think it's safe in my neck of the woods, you just gotta learn how to dodge in and out between the bullets that buzz by yah every now and then.

The most dangerous State to live in is the United State of America. Since the 70's crime skyrocketed. Beyond scope in fact. No one is safe. Nice to see their view of the worst place to be. Just brings fear. No service in it. Just a tool. For what, you ask. Good question!

My view is that the most dangerous place to live is where you are. That is where trouble finds most. In their secure zone. Really it is not where you are, but, are you where you should be.

My state didn't make the list either (Kentucky) ... I never feel like I live in a dangerous place. Most of the people around here seem to do stupid things to kill themselves, not each other.

I mean, we have a ton of the whole "we leave our front doors to our houses unlocked" kind of thing...

Even as I'm sitting here at my job, typing on a blog instead of working, my car is sitting in the parking garage... unlocked.

And while some people would call it crazy... I guess it really does seem an entire world different depending on what state you live in.

*goes back to being cautiously optimistic about his safety*

Tennessee...(#5 most dangerous) I live here and am never surprised if it tops some terrible list.

It's the buckle of the bible belt, full of southern hypocrisy ( bless their hearts).

Worst of all it's the home of Frist's HCA, the corporation most responsible for the deeply flawed health care system in this country.

And then there's the MOCK ROCK these idiots call country music.

If I see one more hillbilly making the " metal" sign when some whiney girl hits a high note I'll vomit.

Actually although its not listed Washington D.C is the most dangerous city- that's because it outsources its crimes to places like Iraq, Africa, and has the highest rate of pickpocketing in the world (the IRS)

I could leave a credit card laying on the seat and no one would touch it. I am so lucky to live where I do.
