Sad but true. We really need to rethink education. This is why I homeschooled for so many years, take her out of the system during the school year for extended vacations to the United States and Europe, etc.

John Holt is a great author to read, but this article helps to raise awareness of the questions all parents should be asking themselves...

Why don't we teach children to be leaders? because the schools that teach children to be leaders are run by the leaders. Do you think "the leaders" would teach or allow to be taught the understand and connections that it takes to be a leader in earnest? Not to likely for a while. Private schools are doing some of this job but you have to REALLY evaluate their curriculum and read between the lines to see if it's thorough education towards leadership in any area or covert control with false information at an early age which at a mature age allows easy manipulation for control.

      Some food for thought.
