    That is kind of messed up.. Those selfish people refusing to pay the tax should go to jail..

      It might not be that they're selfish, so much as they believe they are already taxed too heavily as it is. Then again, maybe they are just selfish and should give up all their money anytime its demanded of them, yea...

      I feel for these people. After living in the U.K. for most of the last decade, I can tell you that the people are taxed excessively. These folks probably just got sick of another tax.

        Well, everyone has that right to refuse taxes. You have the right to give up your citizenship as well, but hey, at least there was a majority of thinking with the Boston Tea Party.

          At least they have a right to protest...I don't think the Chinese who paid 40 billion for their Olympics got much say in the matter.

            But I kind of agree with the elderly couple. It's one thing to fund education and social security. Everyone needs that for life to continue positively. But the tax to pay for the building of everything for the Olympics? Like the husband said, when will they ever receive use of these buildings? Will they still be alive by then? They both are retired and living off pensions. I'm sure those $59 could go to something more beneficial for them.
