They will push until they find resistance, which may be difficult to find under the fog of the alleged war on terrorism. It is more like a war on the citizenry.

The whole reason for the Bush presidency has been to attempt to "legalize domestic spying." The intelligence agencies have been breaking the laws with new "through the wall technologies." This technology has gotten into the hands of unscrupulous people and corporations. It has spawned an illegal crime syndicate between government and corporations in official and unofficial capacities. We are literally being primed for a "no privacy world" which will be used for corporate greed and entertainment for the wealthy.
The attempts to legalize domestic surveillance started directly after 9/11. We never found Bin Laden. The Bush presidency has continued to "chip away" at privacy rights as defined in the Constitution 4th Amendment and Bill of Rights.
They craft the problem to fit the solution that they want. For example if they want to legalize domestic spying for illicit purposes, they ask "How can take away privacy rights" The answer is to claim "it will protect Americans." That's how they are doing it.
Some people ask what the war in Iraq is for. The war was to get rid of an old enemy, to keep using Executive priviledge and war time powers, to profit, and to continue chipping away at the civil liberties of Americans.
To vote for McCain is akin to allowing a Nazi to takeover our government and replace it with a facist regime that benefits the wealthy and powerful. It's ironic that they are touting McCain's patriotism. -

The Police have raided homes of people suspected of being protestors at the GOP convention. Is protesting now a crime?
